Why Are There So Many Songs With Depressing and At Times Degrading Lyrics?
Have you noticed the trend with popular music? The lyrics can be downright depressing and at times degrading. Do you ever wish you could rewrite the lyrics from your favourite songs, just so you can listen to them with your own self-supporting lyrics?
Upbeat music, inspiring harmonies, vibrational sound; these are all great for getting in a great mood. Music can have a positive influence in your life - and studies have shown how music can influence you: from healing to improving memory, energising your workouts and improving sleep. Music influences your emotions, your well-being and your life. While music influences your mood, what about lyrics? Studies conclude people listen to songs that reflect their feelings. When you listen to your favourite songs, you're more likely to pay attention to the lyrics₁. So, what are you paying attention to?
"Words make you think.. music makes you feel.. [and] a song makes you feel thoughts." - Yip Harburg.
“Every time we have a thought, we make a chemical. If we have good thoughts, we make chemicals that make us feel good. And if we have negative thoughts, we make chemicals that make us feel exactly the way we are thinking. Same thoughts always lead to the same choices, same choices lead to the same behaviour and the same behaviours lead to same experiences and the same experiences produce the same emotions and these emotions drive the very same thoughts₃."
How to change your thoughts? "When you marry a clear intention (intention being a thoughtful process), with an elevated emotion (which is a heartfelt process), you move into a new state of being₄." The quantum field responds not to what we want; it responds to who we are being. And in the world of quantum physics, we know that matter is energy₅.
Music marries thought (intention) and mood (elevated emotion) together. My question to you is, who are you being when you listen to your favourite music? Who would you rather Be?
"A song about me? Well, I'd love to."
When you weave words (thought or intention) and feelings (mood or elevated emotion) together into a song, you create a powerful vehicle for creating change in your life.
In quantum physics, the field of energy responds not to what you want; it responds to who you are being. Who are you being when you listen to your favourite songs? Who would you love
to Be? And how can you write a song that reflects where you'd love to go in your life?
Who Would You Love to Be When You Listen to Music?
With so many songs written reinforcing negative behaviour, isn't it time to listen to songs that reflect who'd you
like to Be, and where you'd love to go in your life? Think of it as goal oriented music.
Pick your target (intent written lyrics) and listen to your mood booster (upbeat or inspiring music) and go. Listen daily. Use it to meditate, to dance and sing to.
Because daily consistent change leads to long-term habit reprogramming. It's not easy to change your life-long habits, yet a self-directed, life supportive song can go a long way to lead you to a life you love.
Being a singer songwriter, I love feeling the vibrational sound of my own voice, and writing lyrics with encouraging, life enhancing lyrics.
Imagine being able to unlock your voice for natural resonant tone
and write inspired lyrics
too. It's the greatest feeling when you sing openly and freely.
That's why I'm freely sharing information on how to open your voice to beautiful harmonies, how to write inspired, intuitive lyrics that set you free from negativity and point you in the direction of your goals; plus you get recordings of my sound meditations, original music
and popular music (with inspiring lyrics)
that I've sung as well.
What If Your Music Sucks?
Well there's always the possibility that you'll either like or dislike my music. No one size fits all, and music differs to personal taste. So go no further and have a listen to one of my original songs right now.
If you like it, that's great. If not, you can still get so much insight from the information on opening up to your singing voice, writing from inspiration and intuition, ancestral sound meditation,
energy consciousness and mind reprogramming.
