This morning on my gratitude walk, it started out the same as usual. A walk around North Maleny and back to home via Coral Street.
I stopped to check mail at my old home in case there was anymore stray mail, and I say hello to Lisa's (from BDifferent Dance Academy's) husband. They're heading overseas to live next year - in a few months - and he's concerned that his desire to live back in his own country is just from a memory of his love for it. You know, the whole grass is greener on the other side.
I said to him, "just love where you live wherever you are".
That's how to be happy, isn't it?
Love where you are, right now.
Find something to love in every moment.

There are days when I go for my gratitude walk that I struggle to be present and grateful. I allow for these times knowing that it's temporary. Perhaps I have a gripe to sort through, or it's just that my body is holding on to old emotions.
Whatever it is, I know it's temporary. And that with persistence, I can find some measure of love in my heart, a grateful feeling to see me through the day.
Talking to Lisa's husband reminded me how blessed I am. How blessed we are to be living. Simply to be living a beautiful life. And to be happy, happy as possible in the moment, no matter where we are.
"Look at the bright side of life and choose to be happy. Yes, it is a matter of choice. When negative thoughts enter your mind, just refuse to look at them, substitute them with happy thoughts." - Dr Anil Kr Sinha
I hear in my mind some people saying that refusing to look at negative thoughts is ignorance...
How about a different perspective on that?
Refusing to look at negative thoughts and emotions diminishes their effect, eventually weakening those synapses to virtual non-existence. While choosing happiness strengthens and adds variety and spice to your life.
Adding to or choosing great things in your life before detracting and removing things from your life makes it so much easier to move on and be great.
So, my lovely motto for the day - "I am Blessed every day in every way every where that I AM".
